Section Involvement Grant Application
The American Medical Association is proud to support local initiatives through its medical student leaders. The Section Involvement Grant (SIG) program is available to all medical schools to assist local AMA medical school section recruitment and engagement efforts throughout the school year. Local AMA sections are eligible to receive up to $1,500 per academic year (maximum $500 per application).
For recruitment events, all non-member attendees should be emailed an invitation to join the AMA within 48 hours of the event. To support recruitment efforts, the MSOP team has worked to automate the membership email process. Outreach Leaders should:
After submitting your Section Involvement Grant application, please set up a time to connect with your Student Outreach Manager. They will discuss best practices and key processes with you, and can answer questions you may have.

For recruitment events, students should send AMA membership invitations to all non-member attendees within 48 hours using the automated email in the MSOP dashboard. Outreach Leaders should use the MSOP dashboard to download the registration template, collect attendee data, and upload the list promptly.
